This book lightly touches on the harmful effects the real-life witch trials had on practicers back in the day and presently. The book was also pretty fast paced which I hugely appreciated because it got into the nitty gritty without all the slow parts a lot of novels have. The book has a unique magic system, original storytelling and characters I fell in love with almost immediately. It’s what every good book should have, that killer first line that makes you bring that book closer to your face and go “Okay, I’m intrigued.” This intrigue and absolute rapture continued throughout the entire book which honestly I was not ready for ahaha.
